Parish People’s Awards – Annie Dale – 2010 winner

Annie Dale was presnted with her Parish People’s Award at the church group, Open Door, where many friends were able to share the event. Her citation read: “In recognition of your loyal, consistent and caring service to many groups and individuals within the Binfield community”. The Parish Council is delighted to be able to recognise Annie those working in the parish, mostly unpaid, who make our lives that bit better. Start thinking about who you can nominate for an award next year.

Grants - It is not too late to apply!

Each year, Binfield Parish Council considers requests for grants from local organisations. These funds are allocated on the following factors: budget available; proposed use(s) of grant; number and age groups of members; number of Binfield residents who would benefit and need (based on the amount of money already in their funds in relation to their plans). If you wish to be considered for a grant this year, please complete an application form available from the parish office. The closing date for applications has been extended to 9th July 2010 to give you a little more time to get your forms submitted. Applications received after this date will be considered in January 2011.

Artsweek 2010 – An early promotion of the Northern Parishes Artsweek – 25-31 October

The Artsweek has become an annual event during the autumn half term. It will be held from 25 October until 31 October at various locations throughout Binfield, Warfield and Winkfield. There will be a broad range of activities for children and adults and the full programme and how to book details will be shown in the October Beacon. All the events are free and priority will be given to residents of the three parishes. When an event becomes fully booked a standby list will be created and people will be advised if places become available. This might be at short notice. Bookings will open on Monday 11 October.

An Arts and Craft Exhibition will be held from 29 October to 31 October at the Brownlow Memorial Hall in Warfield. If you would like to display work you should complete an application form available from the parish office. All work on show will be judged and awards made in three categories 5-11, 12-18 and adult. Visitors to the exhibition over the three days will be able to take part in a ‘Public Vote’ to nominate their favourite artist, the result will be declared at the end of the Exhibition on Sunday 31 October.
